From Musky Movember to Clean-Cut December
Throughout the month of November, thousands of men everywhere stow away razors and let their beards take over to support awareness for men’s health. The biggest advocates for this are No-Shave November and Movember, charitable organizations focused on raising men’s health awareness.
Whether your man is follicularly-challenged or easily grew that rugged beard, it’s finally time for the razors to come out of storage! So take a picture of that hairy accomplishment, get out the essential oils, and create a fantastic shaving cream and aftershave to get ready for that smooth, clean look.
A really easy shaving cream can be made that’s soothing for his new shave.
Shaving Cream
- 2/3 cup shea butter
- 2/3 cup cocoa butter
- 1/4 cup fractionated coconut oil
- 5 drops sandalwood essential oil
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
- 5 drops melaleuca essential oil
- Place butters and oil in double boiler to melt. Mix in essential oils. Let shaving cream cool. Whip with hand mixer. Then get rid of that Movember beard!
Shaving after so long can cause irritated skin. To help out with that, whip up some aftershave for him that smells great and will help sooth his skin.
Earthy Aftershave
- 3/4 cup witch hazel
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 10 drops sandalwood essential oil
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
- 3 drops rosemary essential oil
- 2 drops melaleuca essential oil
- Place all ingredients in a bottle. Shake well and pat onto skin after shaving for a natural, great-smelling antiseptic and anti-inflammatory aftershave.
Ladies, get ready to kiss that clean-shaven man now that No-Shave November has concluded and we’re getting ready for the holiday season
